After the Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed Russian national teams to return to international ice hockey competitions, several European federations refused to play against Russia. Sponsors and commercial partners also withdrew or limited their support for the 2027 men’s World Championship in Germany, while Ukraine faces a risk of losing its place in the elite division.
