Ukrainian prosecutors and the Security Service have notified former presidential spokesperson Yulia Mendel in absentia of suspected state treason and justification of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. Mendel is abroad and denies cooperating with Russia, saying the case is based on her criticism of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his circle and reflects suppression of free expression.
